Eighteen-year-old Yasmien Kurdi now plays a challenging role as Jenna in GMA 7’s new Sine Novela “Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso?”
That role was originally played by Megastar Sharon Cuneta opposite ex-husband Gabby Concepcion.
Yasmien has a new loveteam in the person of JC de Vera.
Supporting Yasmien and JC are Chynna Ortaleza, Arci Munoz, Karel Marquez, Jennifer Sevilla, Pinky Amador and Eddie Gutierrez.
It is the story of Jenna, a young, innocent maid who falls in love with her master’s grandson, Aldrin.
I watched the original film in the late 80s and I really liked the real and reel loveteam of Sharon and Gabby then. Sharon was very charming as Jenna and she made me laugh and cry with her in some of her scenes. She is truly a tough act to follow.
Gabby, one of the most handsome Filipino actor of all time, was brilliant as the rich and rebellious Aldrin.
Of course it is so unfair to compare Yasmien and JC to Sharon and Gabby. But I hope they give justice to their roles.

Yasmien and JC look good together. Their sinenovela is really rating high! It will be great if they’ll be given a movie project sooner..
