Who will be the next Philippine Idol?

Will it be soul diva Mau Marcelo?

Mau definitely has a solid fan base. She can sing any kind of song brilliantly and with ease. Even international singer and our country’s pride, Lea Salonga was all praises for her. Among her best song numbers are “Diamonds are Forever ”, “So slow”, “Sweet Love”, “Waray-Waray” and “I Will Always Love You”.

Mau is a veteran of singing competitions. She’s really very good. But the sad thing is some people judge her because of her looks. This winsome lady may not be a beauty queen material, but she’s very charming. She may not be slim or sexy but she knows how to carry herself well.

Will Gian Magdangal be the first Philippine Idol?

Gian is a great performer. He can be the next Gary Valenciano. Aside from singing, he also plays the piano and he dances well. A truly talented artist, Gian can even become an international performer.

He can easily bring the house down with his splendid performances. Among his most notable numbers are “Lately”, “Greased Lightning”, “Footloose”, and “Himala”.

Or will it be Jan Nieto?

Jan is said to be the dark horse in the competition. Ryan Cayabyab or Mr. C to Philippine Idol fans, said he has improved so much.

Jan was indeed a big revelation during the Philippine Idol’s Sing and Dance Night where he sang Ricky Martin’s “La Vida Loca”. His rendition of Martin Nievera’s “You are my Song” also proved he can be the first Philippine Idol. He was also good when he sang “Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling ka”, “Beyond the Sea”, and “The Way you Look Tonight”.

This Atenean who came from the corporate world may be a newbie in singing competitions, but he can give the more seasoned performers a run for their money.

So who will bag the much-coveted title? It all depends on the voters’ choice. Watch the Finals Performance Night on Saturday and vote…wisely!

Be entertained with the special numbers prepared by the big three and the other finalists, Miguel, Pow, Ken, Apple, Arms, Jelli, Reymond, Steff and Drae.

The three will sing three songs each.

They were given the chance to choose one song while the other two were selected by the three judges and the musical director and by Sony BMG.

Gian chose “Impossible Dream”. Jan will sing “Say That You Love Me”. Mau will give her best shot with the song “Love Takes Time”. Find out their other song numbers on Saturday, December 9.

Good luck to Mau, Gian and Jan! May the best singer (and performer) win!
