In tonight’s episode 19 of the first season, the Fringe Division investigates a case of a woman who exploded in the middle of a busy street, a pyrokinetic.

While investigating, Olivia experiences “awake dreams” and decides to explore her visions. Walter then suggests that what she is seeing could be an alternate reality. An alternate univers where in half of Boston is under quarantine because of massive fires.

Olivia and Peter paid a visit to a website designer who is apparently aware of William Bell, the drug trials, and the coming war, although his credibility comes into question when he believes himself to be participating in the plot of J. J. Abrams’ Star Trek (the release date of which is three days after the episode aired).

Olivia with the help of her visions, tried to track down the victim’s twin sister, who has already been kidnapped.

Harris is shown to be the mastermind for the crime, and tries to get Olivia silenced by trapping her in a room with the unstable pyrokinetic woman. The woman instead incinerates Harris.

Olivia later on found out that the sisters were part of the same drug trial as her. She presses Walter for information, but he cannot remember. Meanwhile, Walter reveals that the ZFT manuscript was written by William Bell, and that the copy ZFT uses is missing a chapter. He locates the original, but the Observer shows up to take him somewhere before he can tell anyone.
