It’s final. Star for All Seasons and Lipa Mayor Vilma Santos is running for governor in the province of Batangas. It is now Recto vs. Recto since she will be going against brother-in-law Ricky Recto.

Incumbent Batangas Governor Armando Sanchez is also seeking re-election.

“I am accepting the challenge,” Vilma said in her speech yesterday before thousands of her supporters.

Vilma finally made up her mind after a week of carefully contemplating on the matter amid mounting pleas from her supporters.

Vilma’s husband, Senator Ralph Recto who is now seeking re-election, said his wife is a sure winner.

It will be recalled that Vilma earlier announced she was dropping her gubernatorial bid in favor of Ricky Recto because she does not want to break her family apart.

But she was singing a different tune yesterday. She said she is running because of her love for the people of Batangas which she also considers her family.
