In baseball, one very rare event that occurs is what is called an “Unassisted Triple Play”. It happens when a defensive player makes all three putouts by himself in one continuous straight play without any teammates assisting.
Today, this rare feat has been done again. Eric Bruntlett became 15th player in Major League history to do an unassisted triple play which ended the game with a win for the Philadelphia Phillies over New York Mets with a score of 9-7.
