This girl is truly a joy to watch. Iza Calzado started out five years ago as a commercial model for a leading brand of shampoo. Offers started coming in for this lovely daughter of noted choreographer Lito Calzado.

Iza first appeared as Phoebe in the teleserye “Kung Mawawala Ka” in 2001. The following years proved to be hectic and fruitful for Iza as she tackled various TV and movie assignments as well as commercial projects.

She’s most notable as an actress with her portrayal in the following movies: as Anna in the movie “Sigaw” in 2004, as Mary Grace in “ Milan ” also in 2004, as Divina in “Moments of Love” shown early this year and as Milagros in “Eternity” shown just recently.

On television, Iza was pefect as Amihan in GMA’s hit telefantasya “Encantadia”. She now essays the role of Cielo in GMA’s latest telefantasya “Atlantika” opposite Dingdong Dantes, her perennial leading man.

Luckily, I was able to watch all four movies that I mentioned. Aside from her magnificent acting, her classic beauty always shines out in every film she makes. A lot of directors said “the camera just loves Iza”.

She is indeed one of the country’s most beautiful actresses today. She has that mesmerizing smile and beguiling look making her a perfect cover girl.

In a recent interview in the country’s leading broadsheet, Iza said she would rather be an actress than a star.
