NASA’s space shuttle landing got delayed for one day due to bad weather. Seven astronauts on board are now back on earth.
Discovery brought back Tim Kopra home after living on ISS for 44 days. Discovery left Nicole Stott behind to stay there at the platform for three months.
One of the purposes of the mission was to coduct exterior work replacing the ammonia tank that has been exhausted already. This is used as a cooling system for the space station.
Another purpose was to do some cabling to prepare the station for another module’s arrival. It’s a new room called Cupola with a large window. This space will be for the astronauts to control robotic operations in the future from the outside part of the ISS.
