Richard on his new loveteam, Marian

On the first team-up of Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera via GMA Films and Regal Entertainment’s Valentine movie offering, My Best Friend’s Girlfriend (BFGF), comparisons cannot be evaded between them and the former team-up of Richard and Angel Locsin.

It has been three consecutive years where Richard and Angel’s loveteam usually have movies during Valentine season. It started from Let the Love Begin in 2005, followed by I Will Always Love You in 2006, and The Promise last year.

But this year, since Angel left the Kapuso network, Marian was chosen by GMA Films and Regal to team-up with Richard for their Valentine offering, the BFGF.

Duing their presscon yesterday, January 16, Richard was asked on what he felt to be teamed-up with a different leading lady for his fourth consecutive Valentine movie. He answered, “For the past three years, I’ve been doing a Valentine movie with the same partner. So now, it’s a new start, refreshing start for GMA Films this coming Valentine’s. I’m very excited about this movie.”
