Residents Opted To “Walk On Wires”

Manila, Philippines – Some residents literally “Walked on Wires” just to escape the neck deep waters brought about by typhoon Ondoy. Though Meralco has cut the power, it is still a very risky attempt by these people. But again, for some, it might be less of a risk as compared to walking on neck deep flooded streets.

For about 24 hours, there were no power. I think the whole of Metro Manila was out of electricity due to potential electrocution.

I can’t blame them from opting to walk on wires. I’ve heard stories about people stepping into open “manholes” and being sucked under water. Then on course the hazards of getting infection from flood waters. Just put a drop of this under a microscope and you’ll probably see a lot of potential disease causing bacteria.

I really hope the Philippines would receive a lot of help from the other countries.
