EUNICE Lagusad or more popularly known as Charming will turn nine years old next month.
Since the time she played the young Charming in the hit TV drama Bakekang, Eunice has captured the hearts of televiewers both young and old. Her acting career did not stop at Bakekang since she now stars in GMA’s blockbuster afternoon drama “Princess Charming” together with Krystal Reyes as Princess.
Young girls would often cry with them in their most dramatic scenes.
But come to think of it, what could Charming’s fans be thinking whenever their favorite child star is maltreated in a particular scene?
I bothered to ask a few of my neighbors who regularly watch Princess Charming.
Therese, 7 years old, says her stepmother isn’t good to Charming because she’s not beautiful. Six-year-old Alyssa says Charming is being maltreated because she’s dark, fat and ugly.
I also asked them what do they like about Charming? They said they watch her because she’s kind and she acts well.
The drama isn’t really suited for young audience. For one, a lot of female characters in the drama whether adults or young girls are too scheming.
The characters of Donya Amparo and Sophia played by Chanda Romero and Mylene Dizon respectively are somewhat nefarious. Is planning to kill someone not evil?
Dexter Doria who plays the mother of Lotlot de Leon even sold her own grand daughter Princess for a large amount of money which unfortunately did not make them live comfortably.
Yes, the stars of Princess Charming are two wonderful kids who at their young age are already earning their own money.
They are indeed entertaining to watch but, honestly speaking, the drama is inappropriate for kids as young as Princess and Charming. Just my two cents worth…
