No Bride for “My Kuya’s Wedding”

Regal Films wanted to do a launching movie for young star Maja Salvador titled “My Kuya’s Wedding” with Ryan Agoncillo as her brother.

The movie is obviously patterned after the hit Julia Roberts film My Best Friend’s Wedding.

Regal Films originally asked Jolina Magdangal to play Ryan’s bride. Jolina reportedly declined due to her hectic schedule since she’s busy campaigning for her boyfriend Bebong Munoz who’s joining politics.

The role was then offered to Jennylyn Mercado. Jennylyn also turned down the project citing her taping schedule for “Super Twins.”

Industry observers said Regal Films should get a new actress to play the bride’s role and not Jolina or Jennylyn. The bride will only be supporting Maja who’s the real star of the movie.
