Tonight Aug 11, 2009 up to Aug 12, 2009 is the best date to view the annual Perseid Meteor shower. If you missed it, you can still view the meteor shower in the next couple of days but not as frequent as the night of Aug 11.

The Perseid meteor has been observed in a lot of countries including China, Europe, US. The meteor shower starts during July and peaks at around August. This year, it will peak on Aug 11/12 2009 1:00am EST to 5:30am EST. The frequency of meteor can be from 50 to 150 per hour.
It is best viewed away from city lights and in clear skies.
