Mental Season 1 Episode 2 Synopsis:

Dr. Jack Gallagher, the Directory of Psychiatric Services and psychiatrist Dr. Veronica Hayden-Jones were called to the Emergency Room for a quick psych consult where they meet Melissa Ranier (guest Nicholle Tom, you’ll probably remember her as Maggie from the hit TV series “The Nanny” in the 90s), a woman presenting as seven months pregnant.

The twist is that, the doctors were informed by the ER physician that Melissa’s ultrasound shows that she is not pregnant and that there wasn’t any baby. However, the signs of pregnancy were there, big “tummy”, and even her water broke.

Soon, when the patient’s husband (and OB/GYN) arrives, they find he, too, is under the delusion that his wife is pregnant. Dr Jack Gallagher must take drastic measures to get to the bottom of the case and help bring the couple back to reality. Meanwhile, Jack searches for his mentally ill sister, Becky, whom he believes is homeless and wandering the streets of Los Angeles in the “A Beautiful Delusion” episode of MENTAL airing Tuesday, June 2
