Separated by Birth?
Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, the Filipino Boxer who is considered the best “pound-per-pound” fighter got a pretty good nickname. He used to be called the “Destroyer” but then somebody thought of using “PACMAN” which has a nice ring to it.
No he does not eat like Pacman the game but it actually came from the first 3 letters of his First and Last Name
MANny PACquiao
Put it in reverse and you get “PACMAN”. Surprisingly, it is a very nice nickname for a boxer. It feels like he “eats” his opponents for breakfast. With so many prized wins from very powerful opponents, Manny PACMAN Pacquiao is really one of the greatest fighters we’ve ever seen in this century.
Guess what the Filipinos call her mother (Aling Dionisia)…..they call her “PACMOM“.
Manny Pacquiao is ROCKY Balboa - See The Similarities
1.) Rocky was a virtual Nobody when he started. Rocky just fights with his heart. Same with Pacquiao in his old days. He just fights with his heart. Before he became a well rounded boxer, he just fights hard with a never say die attitude.
2) Both are Southpaw
3) Rocky was a replacement fighter. Manny was also a replacement fighter. He stepped into the ring in June 23, 2001 against IBF Super Bantamweight champion Lehlohnolo Ledwaba as a late replacement and won the fight.
4) Both became intelligent fighters and became well rounded boxers during their career.
5) Both have product endorsements
6) Both ventured into the entertainment world. Rocky was doing everything from magazine covers to TV show guest star appearances. So as Manny Pacquiao, although I don’t recall Rocky making a song unlike Manny who recorded a song called “Para Sa Iyo Ang Laban Na ‘to”
(see youtube video below)
7) Lastly, there are similarities in their photos above.
