Don’t Call me Liz – Email By Elizabeth Bectone

“Don’t Call me Liz”. This is the new buzz words that people were talking about. As a background information, it was said that Rep. Jim McDermott’s scheduler/office manager named Elizabeth Becton was offended when an executive assistant at McBee Strategic was confirming an appointment with the congressman.

When Elizabeth got an email with the greeting “Hi Liz”, she replied with “Who is Liz?”. The sender of the email apologize a couple of times but everytime an apology email was sent. However, Elizabeth were insistent and keep on sending a reply highlighting the mistake.

Did I read that right? 19 emails were exchanged because someone tried to be friendly and addressed a woman as ‘Liz’? The guy that hired her needs a new job if she was the best he could find. Good Grief! – Iris
