Two award-winning actors proved to be unlucky this time.

Partial and unofficial election results show that Cesar Montano who run for senator under the administration party and Richard Gomez, an independent candidate, are not even included in the top 15 senatoriables.

This despite their popularity, acting awards, good looks, and equally famous wives.

One thing is definitely clear. Popularity does not necessarily translate into votes. The public were always rooting for these celebrities, very eager to see them during their campaign rallies. A handshake, a wave, a smile. These surely made a lot of people excited.

But did they vote for these two actors? Some did, a lot did not.

Cesar and Richard are both capable of becoming good senators. Cesar said if given the chance he will work on improving the arts and tourism. Richard on the other hand vowed to fight drug addiction.

However, these promises are not enough to encourage the people to vote for them. They may be good but more candidates are certainly better than them.

One Response to “Cesar and Richard: Unlucky This Time”

Somehow the voters now are more aware that some celebrities are not worth voting. I just wished they could have given the funds the used for campaigning the poor or those who they were running for. Sayang ang ginastos nila eh!
