Sexy actor Alfred Vargas does a lot of preparation for his role Erebus, a merman who happens to fall in love with Dyesebel, portrayed by Marian Rivera, in the upcoming GMA-7 telefantasya, Dyesebel. He underwent underwater training, did workshops, and even researched about Dyesebel.
Alfred said that he watched the 1990 Dyesebel movie led by Alice Dixson, and some scenes of the 1973 Dyesebel film where Vilma Santos played the role.
The young actor even got his hair cut for his role as a merman. He revealed that his hairdo before used to be long and he kinda look scary in his underwater scene, that’s why he decided to have his hair cut.
“Okey naman ang training na ibinigay at nag-enjoy ako. Matagal din naman ang training. Ilang months before mag-taping, pini-prepare na nila kami, so okay naman. Saka swimmer naman ako nung bata ako, so parang inisip ko na lang sa memory how I used to swim before. Parang bumalik na lang ako sa pagkabata at saka enjoy ako underwater,” Alfred said.
He is very happy to have this role and thanked GMA-7 for giving him the opportunity to be in the said TV show.
