Adam Lambert’s May 19, 2009 Performance – American Idol Season 8 Finale

The Songs Are

Madword, A Change is Gonna Come, and No Boundaries

In today’s american Idol Season 8 Finale, both contestants will be singing 3 songs so it will be like 3 rounds of boxing.

Round 1:

Adam Lambert Performed “Madworld“. This is the same song he performed last April 7.

He had some smoke effects on stage which is quite cool and quite dramatic. Adam was dressed with a long coat.

Comments of the Judges for Round 1:

Simon said it was a bit theatrical and the performance reminded him of the play “Phantom of the Opera”. Kara said he was an incredible artist, Randy liked the smoke effect, and Paula said adam gave a “theatrical taste”.

I guess his experience as a theatre talent paid off.

Round 2:

Adam sang “A Change is Gonna Come”. This song was chosen by Simon.

Randy said “the real reason you are here is you can sing your face off and that is unbelievable“. Paula said “that was the best I ever heard you sing..ever ever ever. whatever happens, you will be iconic“. Simon mentioned it was a brilliant song choice (of course it was his) but then he said “I would say is you are 100% back in the game“.

Round 3:

The song is both performed by Adam and Kris. It is entitled “No Boundaries” which was apparently composed by Kara DioGuardi.

Randy “dude you can sing anything..but thats not one of my favorite performances…its a little pitchy for me“, Paula said “adjectives can not express what you have brought here in American Idol season 8“. Simon “one of the best, most original contestants we ever had on the show“.
