Most politicians, particularly from the opposition, would like to believe that the inclusion of multi-awarded actor Cesar Montano in the administration line up was meant to draw more supporters.
This may not be the case. Montano or Cesar Manhilot has always been looked up to by a lot of fans. He always comes up with quality films that depict real-life situations. His “Jose Rizal”, “Muro Ami”, “Panaghoy sa Suba”, and “The Great Raid” were unforgettable.
Prior to his announcement that he would run for senator, Montano was seen with his wife, Sunshine Cruz planting trees. He said it is his passion to take care of the environment and natural resources.
Montano is also an in demand product endorser especially of products for the “masa”. He likes to fight for the causes of the “masa”. This is probably is his advantage over fellow actor and senatoriable Richard Gomez.
Gomez is now more identified with the elite especially when he married Lucy Torres who belongs to a very rich clan in Ormoc.
Whenever the entire administration line up is campaigning, people get more excited seeing Montano with them.
Let us hope people will vote on merits not on mere popularity.

I believe Cesar Montano can make a difference for our country. I read at http://cesarmontano.wordpress.com/ all his advocacies, and im considering him to be included in my magic 12. I can feel his being makabayan by standing up for Philippine arts and culture, meron bang ibang senator na balak isulong ang ating kultura na nakakalimutan na ng iba?
